Schools and Universities
With LEDs lighting our school classrooms, hallways, lobbies, parking lots and walk ways, our children/young adults can be safer and happier. With additional light and clearer visibility, students can be safer when out and about at night, and observe their surroundings more visibly. This white light produced from the LEDs has been proven to increase the overall mood of students and workers in the workplace, as well.
Unpredictable climate patterns and rising global temperatures are changing these days; we should use greener methods for lighting if we hope to better preserve the planet. The cost of electricity for schools is higher than the money spent on books.

Significance of Changing to LED Light
The two most important heads of energy consumption in a school are lighting and heating. Electricity is needed in high demand for schools so they may run computers, refrigerators, water purifiers, projectors, etc. Half of the electricity bills for a school are from lighting only; it is also an area where it is the easiest to decrease electricity consumption.
Switching without Lifetime Problems
A further advantage of LEDs is that they can be switched on and off very often without compromising their lifetime. Therefore, it is possible to operate them only where needed and save energy even during short periods of time where they can be switched off.
Green Building Program of Schools
Reduction is the solution to create a green environment, yet energy saving equipment requires big investments. Even LED lights experience a little adjustment. Funding for this change is therefore a problem. A good idea is fundraising which can uplift the student charitable initiative towards the need for greening the school projects. Let’s make a goal for a greener and cleaner America.

LED – Future Lighting of Hotels
Qualified commercial LED lighting products use at least 75 percent less energy and last 35 times longer than incandescent lighting. Plus, qualified LED lighting produces virtually no heat and provides optimal light color for any hotel environment, including parking lots, back of the house areas such as kitchens and maintenance rooms, hallways, lobbies, guestrooms, pool areas, and more
Traditionally, hotel rooms have been lighted with incandescent or halogen lights; however, hotel rooms have recently been lighted with CFLs, which are less expensive but have some fallbacks. While CFLs emit less energy, their lifespan is not as long as LEDs and require more maintenance. CFLs also contain materials such as mercury, which can be a potential hazard to clean up if the bulb breaks.
Additionally, CFLs have poor light quality. Guests want to be able to see well in their room. From preparing for a meeting and applying makeup to just simply reading a book, guests do many things in their rooms and the quality of light plays a huge role in getting these things accomplished. If these basic tasks can’t get done because of bad lighting, a guest would potentially reconsider staying there again. Repeat business, especially amongst business travelers, is key to your hotel’s continued growth. By implementing LED lighting in a guestroom, hotel providers can save almost 50 percent without sacrificing temperature and setting, all while still achieving that home feel.
Parking garages are a perfect application in which LED lighting can be used. Currently, many parking garages use fluorescent tube lighting, which adds up to a costly maintenance bill. Typically, hotel providers need to hire a local contractor that has access to lifts so the exterior lighting system can be repaired and properly maintained. Beyond this added expense, hotel maintenance needs to supervise the project when they can be doing other tasks within the hotel and improving the guest experience. By using LED lighting technology in a parking garage, hotel providers can save 50 percent in operating and maintenance costs.
Also consider how lights are on around the clock in the back of the house portion of a hotel. From the kitchen and laundry rooms to maintenance and housekeeping, LED lighting emits less energy and heat, making it a more comfortable setting for the staff and less cost in terms of an electric bill.
From hotel rooms and hallways to back of the house and parking lots, these are just a few applications for LED lighting. Overall, it can be a significant cost savings from an operation standpoint, as well as an improvement upon the guest experience.
Advancements of LED Lighting
LED Fluorescent light bulbs Mercury-free Contain anywhere from 3.5 to 25.6 milligrams of mercury. Products with mercury content are difficult and dangerous to dispose of, as well as expensive last 12 to 14 months. Electricity saving Inexpensive cost but significant environmental cost due to its mercury content.
In the next 5 years projected change in hotel lighting will be implemented most will be “LED-based”. And in no time manufacturers of unsafe chemical used for the lighting bulb will no longer exists and will turn out to produce massive stocks of environment-friendly electricity-saving lighting.
Tips for Hotel Owners Planning to Convert LED lighting:
Be cautious enough from low-priced brands.
Find manufacturers who focus on LED-Lighting technology
Prefer the ones who have presented previous project to ensure the good result.
Anything that requires changes has equivalent invested money. You’ll see the revenues after a year or two. To sum it up LED lighting technology leads our way to a brighter future and thrifty living no matter how big your hotel is, what matters is the goodness it brought to the guest, and to its employees and most importantly the peace of mind to owner itself.
